Caroline Wozniacki awarded wild card for Australian Open

Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki received one of the first wild cards for the 2024 Australian Open.
Wozniacki, who won the event in 2018, initially retired in 2020 before returning in August after giving birth to her two children.
The 33-year-old Dane made a run into the fourth round of the U.S. Open before falling to eventual champion Coco Gauff.
"I have so many wonderful memories of Melbourne, and of course winning the Australian Open is an all-time career highlight," Wozniacki told tournament organizers Wednesday.
Wozniacki also is a two-time finalist at the U.S. Open, finishing as the runner-up in 2009 and 2014. She lost to Belgium's Kim Clijsters in 2009 and to Serena Williams in the later match.
