The 20-year-old fullback is signed through the 2026 MLS season with option years in 2027 and 2028.
"We are delighted to add Dawid to our roster," Montreal president and CEO Gabriel Gervais said. "Despite his young age, he is already showing great defensive maturity. He is a high-potential player who gives us depth at the right-back position."
Born in Poland, Bugaj made his professional debut with Norway's Molde FK in 2019 before signing with SPAL.
He spent three seasons in the SPAL academy before going on loan to Poland's Lechia Gdansk in 2023. He collected two assists in 27 matches there and helped the club earn promotion to the Ekstraklasa top flight for 2024-25.
