Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert left Sunday's game against the visiting Denver Broncos during the second quarter with a finger injury on his throwing hand and was ruled out by the team a short time later.
The CBS broadcast said it was likely Herbert's right index finger as he was seen shaking his hand after an incomplete pass on a fourth-and-2.
The Chargers initially ruled Herbert questionable to return before determining he couldn't continue. Easton Stick entered the game at quarterback.
Herbert was just 9-of-17 for 96 yards and an interception before exiting. The Broncos took a 10-0 lead into halftime.
Herbert was already playing with a fractured finger on his left hand. He suffered that injury back in Week 4 but has not missed a start yet.
