Charlie Bell's Love-Advice Videos Are Strangely Poignant Now That His Wife Is Charged With Stabbing Him
Golden State backup guard Charlie Bell has a bizarre web series called the "Truth Doctor" in which he doles out love advice to the masses (relatively speaking: most clips get about 500 views) and takes people on tours of his sparse apartment. Another interesting tidbit about Charlie Bell: his wife was charged with assault after allegedly attacking him with a box-cutter Sunday night.
In the show, Bell answers Twitter-submitted questions on webisodes hosted on his website. Bell receives such questions as "Can I Find True Love On Twitter?" from people like Samantha from Salt Lake City. He thoughtfully ruminates (yeah, we'll leave it at thoughtful) on questions for a few minutes and then dispenses some valuable relationship advice. One of the last videos he released was on April 24, one week before his wife was arrested for allegedly assaulting the veteran Warriors' player with a box cutter:
Genessee County prosecutor David Leyton charged Bell's wife Kenya Bell, the former Miss Michigan USA, with domestic violence and assault with a dangerous weapon on Monday.
According to NBC25 and police accounts of the Sunday morning incident in Grand Blanc Township, Kenya Bell is accused of stabbing her husband with a box cutter.
Kenya Bell was released from jail on Monday after spending 24 hours in jail. Charlie Bell's comment on the whole situation? He tweeted today, "I'm fine. I didn't get stabbed. Lol. #thatisall." I wonder what O.J. would have had to say had Twitter existed in '94.
We, too, are surprised that a love guru like Charlie Bell could ever run into relationship problems of his own. Maybe Bell should start taking his own advice: relationships are built on trust. Trust that your significant other will not — allegedly — try to stab you with a box-cutter.
