Chennedy Carter nets 27 and A'ja Wilson adds 22 as Aces rout Sun

Mandatory Credit: David Butler II-Imagn Images Chennedy Carter scored 27 points off the bench and A'ja Wilson collected 22 points and 11 rebounds, fueling the Las Vegas Aces to a 98-69 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday in Uncasville, Conn.
Carter made 13 of 16 shots from the floor and added eight rebounds on the heels of her 22-point performance in the Aces' 105-78 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday.
Wilson scored 14 points during a third quarter in which Las Vegas outscored Connecticut by a 30-16 margin.
Jackie Young and Jewell Loyd each finished with 11 points and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus added 10 for the Aces (2-1), who have won two in a row following a 30-point loss to the Phoenix Mercury in their season opener.
Young and backcourt mate Chelsea Gray each contributed a game-high six assists.
Las Vegas will play Connecticut again on Friday in Uncasville.
The Aces shot 54.2% from the floor, held a decisive 58-34 advantage in points in the paint and a 46-29 edge in rebounds
Connecticut's Aneesah Morrow recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds to notch her second straight double-double.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa had 14 points and Hailey Van Lith had nine off the bench for the Sun (0-3), who made Brittney Griner a late scratch due to a sprained toe.
Earlier on Wednesday, the WNBA and NBA Board of Governors unanimously approved the sale and relocation of the Sun from the Mohegan Tribe to new owner Tilman J. Fertitta. The team will relocate to Houston beginning with the 2027 season.
Las Vegas scored 13 straight points to seize a 26-11 lead before Connecticut countered with an 8-2 run to end the first quarter.
The Aces extended their lead to 68-47 late in the third quarter after Young made a floating jumper.
Las Vegas put the game out of reach by scoring the first nine points of the final quarter to seize an 87-53 lead. Carter made two layups -- including one just before the shot clock expired -- and Chelsea Gray sank a 3-pointer during that sequence.
