Rebilas-Imagn Images Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the host New York Giants, the team announced Saturday.
Per the Chiefs, Worthy will not travel with the team to East Rutherford, N.J. He was listed as questionable after being a limited participant in practice throughout the week as he works his way back from a dislocated right shoulder.
Worthy sustained the injury after he collided with teammate Travis Kelce on a crossing route in the season opener.
Marquise "Hollywood" Brown has team-leading totals in catches (15) and receiving yards (129) for the Chiefs, who are off to an 0-2 start.
Worthy, 22, enjoyed a fine rookie campaign last season when he scored nine touchdowns -- six receiving, three rushing. He caught 59 passes for 638 yards.
Also on Saturday, the Chiefs elevated cornerback Kevin Knowles from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game.
