Clemson WR Bryant Wesco Jr. (back) out for season

Clemson wide receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a back injury, head coach Dabo Swinney announced.
Swinney noted that Wesco avoided any significant damage to his neck or spine after the latter landed on his head while returning a punt in the Tigers' 35-24 loss to visiting SMU on Saturday.
Wesco was able to walk off the field but was sent to a nearby hospital in Greenville, S.C. He was released from the hospital on Monday.
"It was a very, very scary injury, and the doctors did an amazing job," Swinney said on Monday in a teleconference.
"The doctors are very confident he'll make a full recovery. Definitely something that'll keep him out the rest of this season, but thankful that all indications are he's going to be OK. Just a real blessing for that."
Wesco, a sophomore, has 31 catches for 537 yards and six touchdowns in six games this season.
Clemson (3-4, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) returns to action against visiting Duke (4-3, 3-1) on Nov. 1.
