Clinton Portis Can Carry The Load, But Can He Carry His Team To The Playoffs?
The Ravens are coming off of a huge win against Philadelphia and a romp against divisional glory hole, Cincinnati, and they're only a game out of their division lead. They're riding high on their resilient Ray Lewis-driven defense and enjoying an incredible rookie year from quarterback Joe Flacco. Baltimore hopes to keep rolling as they've won 6 out of their last 7 games, with the one loss coming at the hands of the Giants.
The Redskins come in trying to remind everyone that they're still relevant. They walk into Baltimore having lost 3 of their last 4 games, and are mopping the floors in the basement of the NFC North third place of the NFC East. Baltimore is a virtual lock for post-season play while the Skins find themselves on the playoff bubble.
Current NFL rushing leader Clinton Portis says he'll play, but expect a steady diet of Ladell Betts and mediocrity otherwise. If Portis can't go, I hope NBC pulls some stings and makes Coach Janky Spanky the 54th man in the NBC studio show. This clusterfuck in the backfield plays right into the hands of the Ravens D. Without Portis, the Ravens can focus all of their attention on giving Jason Campbell's face couch burn. On the other side of the ball, expect the Redskins defense to follow Flacco's unibrow all over the field and pick off at least 2 or 3 passes. If the Skins D cannot control Flacco, this fucker will be over before it really starts.
