Colorado QB, Walking On Broken Foot, Breaks Other Foot
Nick Hirschman, now a third-year sophomore quarterback for Colorado, broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot in practice last August. After surgery, he saw action in five games, mostly toward the end of blowout losses as Colorado finished 3-10. Hirschman had more surgery on the foot in the offseason, and last week was in a walking boot, hoping to compete with Texas transfer Connor Wood for the starting job when spring practice begins tomorrow. But over the weekend, Hirschman managed to break the fifth metatarsal in his right foot—"while walking and apparently misstepping," according to Colorado's football website.
