Mandatory Credit: Robert Goddin-Imagn Images Jonathan Taylor's 83-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons was the 65th of his career, setting an Indianapolis Colts franchise record.
With three scores in the game at Olympic Stadium in Berlin, he broke the Colts record for rushing touchdowns of 64, previously held by Pro Football Hall of Fame member Edgerrin James. Another Colts Hall of Famer, Lenny Moore, is third in franchise history with 63.
Taylor added his 66th career rushing TD in overtime, scampering 8 yards to give Indianapolis a 31-25 win.
Heading into the Week 10 matchup with the Falcons, Taylor was leading the league with 895 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns and 14 total scores.
Against Atlanta, he carried the ball 32 times for 244 yards, an average of 7.6 yards per carry, to put him past the 1,100-yard mark for the season.
He set his career high in rushing yards and total touchdowns -- 1,811 and 20, respectively -- in 2021, when he was named a first-team All-Pro.
His 83-yard TD on Sunday was the longest of his career and the longest in the NFL this season.
Taylor, 26, is in his sixth NFL season, all with the Colts. He has a long way to go to pass Emmitt Smith, the all-time leader in rushing touchdowns with 164.
