Colts Safety Joe Lefeged Arrested With Unregistered Gun, Ammo In Car
Indianapolis Colts safety Joe Lefeged was arrested last night in Northeast Washington, DC. Cops pulled over the vehicle he and another man, Aaron Timothy Wilson, were riding in and found an unregistered handgun, ammunition, and an open alcohol container. It's unclear who was driving, but both men are facing multiple charges.
It's unknown what prompted cops to pull the vehicle over, but authorities say the driver initially attempted to flee, then stopped after a half-mile. Lefeged, 25, and Wilson were charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm inside a vehicle, and possession of an open container of alcohol. Lefeged was arraigned today and held without bond.
"We are aware of the reports regarding Joe Lefeged in Washington, D.C.," the Indianapolis Colts said in a statement. "At this time, we will have no further comment on the pending matter until we gain more information."
Lefeged is from the DC area. He went to Rutgers, then joined the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
