Commanders shut down RB Chris Rodriguez (ankle)

The Washington Commanders placed running back Chris Rodriguez on injured reserve Thursday, ending his rookie season with two games remaining.
He had an MRI on his right ankle earlier this week after rushing for a season-high 58 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the New York Jets.
Rodriguez, 23, finishes the campaign with 51 carries for 247 yards (4.8-yard average) and two scores in 13 games. He added two receptions for 12 yards.
The Commanders selected Rodriguez in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Kentucky, where he rushed for more than 3,600 yards from 2018-22.
