Commanders vs Eagles Week 16 Saturday Betting Pick
The Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in an NFC East matchup on Saturday. The Eagles own a 9-5 record, and they’re playing for playoff seeding at this point. The Commanders are only 4-10, and they’re simply looking to play spoiler against a divisional opponent.
Philadelphia bounced back in a major way last week, beating the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0 at home. They were struggling before that, averaging only 16.2 points per game in their previous 5 games. They topped out at only 21 points against the Dallas Cowboys in those contests.
Washington is in a similar situation. They posted 29 points in a win against the New York Giants last week. Before that, they averaged only 16 points per game over their last 8 games. Granted, they did flash a bit of upside, scoring 26 points in a loss to the Denver Broncos.
These two offenses will be at a disadvantage in this game. The Eagles will be without Lane Johnson, who is a dominant option for them. It’s going to give a major edge to the Washington defensive line this week.

On the other side, the Commanders will be without Laremy Tunsil. His absence will also give the Philadelphia defense a massive edge. It’s also important to mention that Jayden Daniels is out, giving way to Marcus Mariota once again.
The Eagles are also an offense that simply hasn’t traveled well this season. They’ve been a relatively average offense overall this season, but they’re averaging only .360 points per play on the road. Overall, the Eagles are averaging only 20.9 points per game outside of Philadelphia this season.
Philadelphia’s road offense has also been boosted by two games. They posted 31 and 28 points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings earlier in the season. Excluding those games, the Eagles are averaging only 17.4 points per game, and they topped out at 21 points against Dallas.
This game should also be fairly slow-paced, giving an edge to the under. The Eagles play at one of the slowest paces in the NFL, ranking 30th in seconds per play (31.1) this season. The Commanders don’t play quite as slowly, but they only rank 14th in the same category (29.2).
Overall, this is a tough divisional matchup, where we can count on the defenses to play well against injured offenses.
