Croatian Soccer Fans Turn The Sky Red For Their Team
Croatia's oldest football club, Hajduk Split, turned 100 this weekend. So, fans appeared to storm the castle and torch everything in sight. Or something like that.
Euphoric supporters have taken to the streets across the weekend, with giant banners and firework displays taking place to commemorate the event, and a host of flares were fired into the night sky of Split on Saturday evening, turning the sky red.
The festivities continue today, with a friendly arranged between Hajduk and Slavia Prague this afternoon followed by a massive concert, highlighting the role the club and their fans (known as the Torcida) play in the history of the city.
Fear not Detroit: the Pistons don't celebrate their centennial for another 30 years.
