Dan Patrick Returns To SportsCenter; Still Manages A Subtle, Lasting Burn
Dan Patrick returned to ESPN’s SportsCenter set tonight for the first time since leaving the Worldwide Leader in 2007. But lest you think his appearance to commemorate Scott Van Pelt’s first episode of the new solo show would bring tidings of a more lengthy homecoming for one half of the “Big Show”, Patrick let everyone know he was just a visitor.
Literally. Patrick sported his VISITOR badge throughout the appearance, a reminder to those who forced him out (specifically Norby Williamson) that he was quite happy with how things turned out, thank you very much.
That having been said, it was an enjoyable moment. And who wouldn’t expect it to be, given it’s a pairing of ESPN’s current best studio talent with one of the greatest it ever employed.
