Dana White's Contender Series rolls into Week 2 on Tuesday, August 18, live from Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Paramount+ starting at 7 p.m. ET. After a Week 1 card that produced four new UFC contracts and three first-round finishes, this second episode brings a mix of international styles, from an Oktagon veteran testing his ceiling to an unbeaten prospect fresh off a five-fight tear. Here's the full breakdown and a pick for all five matchups.

Welterweight: Namo Fazil (10-1) vs. Kaik Brito (19-6)

This main event pits two combat-sports lifers against each other. Fazil, a Tiger Muay Thai product with a rich kickboxing background, fights as an unapologetic "stand and bang" brawler who wants every second of the fight in the pocket. Brito counters with a more varied toolkit — flying knees, spinning attacks, and finishing instincts from a much deeper 25-fight résumé — but he's also the type of unpredictable striker who can be hittable when he loads up on the spectacular. Fazil's volume, forward pressure, and seven-fight win streak give him the tools to close distance and make this a phone booth fight where his output overwhelms Brito's flash.

Pick: Namo Fazil by TKO, Round 2

Middleweight: Douglas Henrique Rodrigues (6-1) vs. Trent Miller (8-3)

Rodrigues enters as a significant betting favorite for good reason — he's the more well-rounded, technically polished fighter of the pair, with power that has produced finishes throughout his career. Miller's path to an upset relies on out-working Rodrigues on the feet early and dragging him into deep water, but his own finishing rate suggests he's more comfortable initiating exchanges than surviving them. Rodrigues' composure and finishing instincts inside the pocket should let him find the checkmate before Miller can find any consistent rhythm.

Pick: Douglas Rodrigues by TKO, Round 1

Lightweight: Logan Paxton (10-1) vs. Cristian Pérez (14-2)

Paxton is the more aggressive, come-forward fighter, but Pérez brings a deeper and more balanced 16-fight résumé with finishes in the majority of his wins. The key here is pace management, Paxton wants to turn this into a brawl, while Pérez's technical footwork and
counter-striking are built to punish exactly that kind of recklessness. If Pérez can time Paxton's entries and avoid getting drawn into a total slugfest, his craft should take over as the fight extends into the second and third rounds.

Pick: Cristian Pérez by decision

Light Heavyweight: Mahamed Aly (5-1) vs. Alik Lorenz (7-2)

Aly is the shorter-tenured but sharper prospect here, and the betting markets reflect that gap heavily in his favor. Lorenz has heavier hands on paper but has shown vulnerabilities against well-rounded opposition, while Aly's blend of grappling and finishing power gives him multiple
routes to victory. Look for Aly to either find a takedown against the fence or land the cleaner shots in the pocket, both of which play to his strengths over Lorenz's more limited game plan.

Pick: Mahamed Aly by TKO, Round 2

Featherweight: Taner Trembley (7-0) vs. Roman Puga (5-1)

This is the trickiest read on the card. Trembley arrives undefeated but largely untested against a finisher of Puga's caliber, who has closed out the vast majority of his own fights. Puga's aggression and craft in exchanges should test whether Trembley's unbeaten record has been built against comparable competition. Given Puga's finishing abilities and the step up in level Trembley is facing, the pressure and precision should tip in Puga's favor.

Pick: Roman Puga by TKO, Round 2
