The victory marked the fourth straight win for New England (18-10-4, 58 points), keeping it in second place in the Eastern Conference behind Nashville SC, which has clinched the Supporters' Shield
With the loss, the Red Bulls' (11-15-6, 39 points) playoff hopes took a hit. They are now even on points with Toronto FC for the ninth and final spot, only ahead via total wins tiebreaker.
Gazdag scored the winner for New England in the 83rd minute to break a 2-2 draw with his second goal of the season, finishing a rebound after Ethan Horvath made the initial save of Peyton Miller's shot.

Cade Cowell cut New York's deficit to a single goal in the 51st minute with a solo run capped with a left-footed shot past Turner for his third goal of the season. Teenage sensation Julian Hall leveled the game in the 64th minute with a calm finish for his 12th goal of the season.
The Red Bulls finished with more shots (19-9) and more shots on target (11-4), but New England's Matt Turner delivered a strong eight-save performance to secure all three points for the home side.
