Daniel Jones, Jonathan Taylor power Colts to big win over Titans
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones (17) runs for a first down against the Tennessee Titans during the first quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025. Daniel Jones threw for 228 yards and a touchdown while Jonathan Taylor rushed for 102 yards and three scores as the visiting Indianapolis Colts stayed unbeaten with a 41-20 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in Nashville, Tenn.
Jones completed 18 of 25 passes as Indianapolis (3-0) cruised through its first road game of the year. The Colts led for all but 49 seconds of the game, although they did have to punt for the first time this year at the 9:13 mark of the second quarter.
Tennessee rookie Cam Ward connected on 23 of 38 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown, along with an interception that Kenny Moore II returned 32 yards for a score on the game's third play. The Titans (0-3) are 3-17 since the start of the 2024 season.
The Colts led by at least 14 points the entire second half, putting the game away when Taylor zipped through a big hole off the left side and broke three arm-tackles during a 46-yard touchdown run with 1:27 left in the third quarter for a 34-13 advantage.
Ward answered with an 8-yard strike to Elic Ayomanor with 8:40 remaining in the game. But Taylor added his third touchdown on a 1-yard run at the 5:53 mark, two plays after a 37-yard pass interference penalty set up first-and-goal at the 3.
After Joey Slye drilled a 57-yard field goal to get Tennessee on the board following Moore's pick-6, Indianapolis upped its lead to 17-3 after a quarter. Spencer Shrader converted a 24-yard field goal and Taylor powered in from the 1 at the 1:07 mark.
Slye's 42-yard field goal with 10:50 left in the half got the Titans within 17-6, but Shrader hit from 36 as time expired for a 20-6 halftime lead. That came five plays after Slye missed a 62-yard following a delay of game penalty on Tennessee, drawing boos from its fans.
Jones made it 27-6 with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Michael Pittman Jr. before Tony Pollard's 1-yard run got the Titans within 27-13 with 5:09 left in the third quarter.
