De'Aaron Fox Next Team Odds: Pairing with Wemby leads way
December 1, 2024; Sacramento, California, USA; Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox (5) dribbles the basketball against San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle (5) during the second quarter at Golden 1 Center. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-Imagn Images The Sacramento Kings are reportedly open to trading De'Aaron Fox, and there is already an odds-on favorite to land the star point guard.
A pairing with Victor Wembanyama was widely speculated as soon as news surfaced that the Kings were open to dealing Fox, and San Antonio has been installed as the -150 favorite by one sportsbook if Sacramento moves the 27-year-old before the Feb. 6 trade deadline.
Fox will likely have multiple suitors, but an ESPN report claimed that he "has a target destination in mind ahead of 2026 free agency." It is notable that Fox's wife, Recee, grew up in San Antonio.
The next shortest odds belong to Houston at +300. The Rockets are 32-14 and in second place in the Western Conference, 5 1/2 games behind Oklahoma City.

Fox is playing in the fourth season of a five-year, $163 million max extension signed in November 2020. He carries a $37.1 million cap hit for the 2025-26 campaign, and turned down a three-year, $165 million max extension late last year.
He is averaging 25.2 points, 6.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals through 43 starts this season, his eighth with the Kings since being drafted with the fifth overall pick in 2017.
An All-Star in 2022-23, Fox has career averages of 21.5 points, 6.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 512 games (498 starts). If he waits to hit unrestricted free agency, Fox would be eligible for a five-year, $296 million extension with the team that has his rights or a four-year, $219 million deal with another team, according to ESPN.
The Kings currently sit 10th in the Western Conference standings at 24-22, and fired head coach Mike Brown last month.
