Devils D Dougie Hamilton out indefinitely after surgery

Hamilton sustained the injury in the second period of the Devils' 5-4 win against the New York Islanders on Tuesday. He did not play in New Jersey's past two games and had surgery on Friday.
Hamilton, 30, has recorded 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 20 games this season. He is competing in the third campaign of his seven-year, $63 million contract.
Hamilton has totaled 461 points (142 goals, 319 assists) in 771 career games with the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes and Devils. He was selected by the Bruins with the ninth overall pick of the 2011 NHL Draft.
