The D-backs (78-77) moved within two games of the New York Mets (80-75) and remained one game behind Cincinnati (79-76) for the final NL wild card spot. The Reds hold the tie-breaker against both the D-backs and the Mets.
Philadelphia (92-63) dropped three games behind the Milwaukee Brewers (95-60) for the best record in the National League. The top two teams get a first-round bye in the playoffs.
The Phillies threatened in the eighth, when Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto singled off Brandyn Garcia to put runners on first and third with one out. Garcia struck out Brandon Marsh and Ryan Thompson entered to get Bohm to fly out.
John Curtis pitched around a two-out single in the ninth for his third career save, his first since 2020.
