Dodgers add RHP Ricky Vanasco to bullpen
The Los Angeles Dodgers added Ricky Vanasco to the major league roster and optioned fellow right-hander J.P. Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.
Vanasco, 25, is in position to make his major league debut after he was drafted in the 15th round by the Texas Rangers in 2017. He missed the 2021 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery and joined the Dodgers' organization in a June 1, 2023, trade.
In four relief appearances at Oklahoma City this season, Vanasco had a 2.25 ERA in four innings.
Feyereisen, 31, took the loss as the Dodgers fell to the San Diego Padres on Sunday. He allowed six runs in just 1 1/3 major league innings this season.
In four major league seasons, Feyereisen is 8-5 with a 2.87 ERA in 85 appearances (two starts) for the Milwaukee Brewers (2020-21), Tampa Bay Rays (2021-22) and Dodgers.
Los Angeles is expected to make multiple adjustments to its pitching staff this week in the wake of Bobby Miller's move to the injured list on Saturday due to shoulder inflammation.
