Dodgers edge D-backs in 10 to end 7-game losing streak

Shohei Ohtani hit a two-out, infield single to drive in the winning run and the Los Angeles Dodgers broke a season-long seven-game losing streak with a 2-1, 10-inning victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday in Phoenix.

Hunter Feduccia drew a two-out walk in the 10th off Gerardo Carrillo (2-1) and automatic runner Kyle Tucker took third when ball four was a wild pitch. Ohtani singled off Brandyn Garcia, the ball deflecting off sprawling first baseman Tim Tawa's glove as Feduccia scored.

Jack Dreyer got Ryan Waldschmidt to ground into a double play with runners on first and third and one out in the last of the 10th for his first save. Waldschmidt beat the Dodgers with a two-run, walk-off homer in a 4-3 win Friday.

Geraldo Perdomo and Corbin Carroll hit back-to-back triples to open the ninth and tie the game at 1-1 off Edwin Diaz (2-1), but Diaz struck out Ildemaro Vargas with runners on second and third to end the inning.

Kyle Tucker's bases-empty homer in the eighth broke a scoreless tie after Arizona right-hander Brandon Pfaadt and Dodgers' right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw near-matching gems.

Pfaadt gave up two hits and two walks while striking out two in seven scoreless innings of his fourth straight quality start. He faced two batters over the minimum and has not given up an earned run in his last 25 2/3 innings.

Yamamoto gave up only three singles in 5 2/3 innings, with three walks and six strikeouts. Yamamoto finished one-third of an inning short of his 17th quality start.

Andy Pages had two hits of the Dodgers' six hits and Gabriel Moreno had two of the D-backs' seven.

The D-backs left 15 on base and were 2 of 16 with runners in scoring position.

The Dodgers avoided their eighth straight loss in a game they had led , which would have been a franchise record.

The Dodgers and D-backs have split the first 12 games of the season series, with the final game Sunday.

Pfaadt faced the minimum through six innings, giving up only a walk to Pages in the first and an infield single to Pages in the third. Freddie Freeman grounded into a double play in the first and lined into a double play in the fourth.

Alex Vesia walked two in the seventh but struck out Moreno on a 10-pitch at-bat to end the inning. The D-backs loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth off Kyle Hurt before Tanner Scott entered to get Waldschmidt to fly out.

James McCann beat out a slow roller to second off Dreyer with one out in the 10th to move automatic runner Vargas to third base, but Dreyer got Waldschmidt to hit a come-backer to start the double play.
