Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Wednesday that Snell "didn't feel great" after playing catch on Tuesday and will be shut down from throwing. Snell also could get more imaging done on the shoulder, Roberts said.
Snell, 32, was placed on the 15-day injured list on April 6 (retroactive to April 3). His initial MRI revealed inflammation in his sore shoulder.
Snell started two of the Dodgers' first eight games this season and posted a 1-0 record with a 2.00 ERA, but he amassed eight walks and just four strikeouts over his nine innings of work.
A two-time Cy Young Award winner (AL in 2018, NL in 2023) and 2018 All-Star, Snell signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Dodgers in November.
A first-round draft pick by Tampa Bay in 2011, Snell owns a 77-58 career record with a 3.18 ERA in 213 career starts with the Rays (2016-20), San Diego Padres (2021-23), San Francisco Giants (2024) and Dodgers.
