Don Haskins, who started five black players as the coach of Texas Western in the 1966 NCAA Championship Game, has died. Haskins' team beat the all-white Kentucky team in that final. Haskins later told his story in a book, Glory Road, (co-authored by Dan Wetzel) and subsequent movie. He was 78. [ LA Times]
