Duke Freshman Crushes Monster Alley-Oop During Practice
OK, what the hell is happening to Duke? Are they becoming, dare I say, likable?
This happened during a practice session a few weeks ago. That's freshman small forward Semi Ojeleye throwing down a half-court alley-oop. During practice! With Coach K standing right there! I always assumed that Duke practices consisted entirely of players running three man weaves and throwing fundamentally sound chest passes to each other.
Combine this with the fact that Duke is now led by superstar freshman Jabari Parker—the guy who spent his prime-time debut launching quick threes and making beautiful drives to the basket while playing a very non-Duke style of ball—and we are dangerously close to having a Blue Devils team that is easy to root for on our hands.
I don't know if I'm equipped to handle these urges to actually like Duke basketball. I think I'm starting to feel a little dizzy.
