Dutch Striker Misses Wide-Open Goal From Point-Blank Range

There's got to be a point where one gets so close to the goal that it becomes physically impossible to miss. Nicoletta den Ridder was not that close.

The misfire came during a match between the women of Ajax and AC Beerschot. Ajax made the save on a Beerschot free-kick which then bounced right to Beerschot striker standing...two, three feet away from an empty goal? Instead of putting it in the back of the net, she skied it right over the crossbar and joined a growing list of "worst miss ever" candidates.

Ajax won 2-0.
