Edmonton Oilers vs. Dallas Stars Betting Pick: Nov. 25th Best NHL Bet
There’s only one game scheduled tonight as the NHL’s usually packed Tuesday and Thursday cards get shifted to Wednesday and Friday around Thanksgiving. But we do get an excellent matchup as the Dallas Stars visit the Edmonton Oilers.
I hope I’ve provided value as a fade at least! I’ve considered going full Costanza and doing the opposite in order to turn my season around, but for now I will stick to my analysis and actual picks.
NHL Season Stats: 3-11 (-7.45 Units)
Dallas Stars at Edmonton Oilers
Oilers ML (-137 BetRivers)
OK maybe I will actually do something a little different here and go narrative over numbers. The Oilers are a tough team to handicap.
They have the best player in the world in Connor McDavid along with fellow superstar forward Leon Draisaitl. Most of their best players from a team that has made the last two Stanley Cup finals are still here, including long time D stalwarts, Evan Bouchard and Darnell Nurse.
Plus they recently got Zach Hyman back and he plays a huge role dominating in front of the net while McDavid and Draisaitl do their thing. Yet the team sits at just 10-9-5 and a shade out of playoff position.

They of course do not prioritize November games. They will almost certainly get to the tournament and the goal is obviously to peak then and not now. But hey, they return home after 2+ weeks and 7 games on the road and their last match was their best of the season. They went into the swamps of Sunrise, Florida and slayed the Panthers, their Stanley Cup nemesis, by a 6-3 score.
Can they keep the momentum of that win going? I think so.
They will face a very tough Dallas Stars team, but it's a short-handed version of that squad. Mikko Rantanen is their best player and tied for leading scorer with 28 points in 22 games. But he can’t play as he serves a 1-game suspension tonight. They’re also without key top-6 forward Matt Duchene and key defenseman Thomas Harley.
The cupboard upfront is hardly bare as Jason Robertson leads the team with 15 goals and C Roope Hintz is back and playing well as always with 17 points in 17 games. But it's kind of a depleted top of the lineup.
Let’s roll with the Oilers on home ice.
