Edwin Encarnacion Hit A Walk-Off To Goddamn Mars To Put The Blue Jays Through
Photo credit: Tom Szczerbowski/ [object Object] The Blue Jays beat the Orioles in the eleventh inning of tonight’s Wild Card game thanks to a huge three-run dinger from Edwin Encarnacion. Encarnacion was the third batter that Ubaldo Jimenez faced after he came into the game with one out in the eleventh. He allowed both baserunners to reach on singles, then gave up the dong. It was a true no-doubter, as Encarnacion stepped out of the batters box with the ball still on the upswing.
Here’s another angle.
Encarnacion’s homer, only the second extra-innings walk-off in a double elimination game, went 440 feet into the sky.
The Blue Jays open their series against the Rangers on Thursday. Will Rougned Odor and Jose Bautista be able to keep their hands off each other? I doubt it.
