Aqib Talib Has A Terrible Excuse For Poking Dwayne Allen's Eye

Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib put his fingers in Colts tight end Dwayne Allen’s eye near the end of Sunday’s game, and was flagged for unnecessary roughness. The penalty gave Indianapolis a first down, and killed any last chance for Denver to go for the tie or win. The NFL issued a one-game suspension, but Talib plans to appeal. “You think I play football to poke people in the eye?” said Talib, insisting it was an accident. “It was an honest mistake.”

“From my angle, I see (Allen) head butt Von a little bit. I went over to poke his head, and I think my hand slipped and hit his face,” Talib said “He acted like he got in an 18-passenger car wreck. I guess that’s what type of guy he is.”

If Dwayne Allen is the type of guy who doesn’t want another person’s fingers in his eyes, that makes sense. I don’t think even Aqib Talib believes his excuse.
