Belgian Racing Pigeons Are Being Pumped Full Of Coke And Painkillers
Yes, they race pigeons in Belgium. And apparently, not all of these pigeons race The Right Way.
The cheating birds were caught after 20 pigeons' samples were sent to the National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa for testing. Six pigeons reportedly tested positive for various drugs, including cocaine and painkillers.
In May, a racing pigeon named Bolt was sold for 310,000 euros, so the money exchanged might explain why Belgian pigeon racers would use every advantage possible, even if it those advantages involve giving coke to pigeons.
No word as to whether or not any newspaper columnists in Belgium denounced these pigeons for disgracing the sport and being poor role models.
