Blackhawks Beat Bruins In Overtime, 6-5, To Tie The Series
That was fun, wasn't it? After this series's first three games only yielded 12 total goals, both teams went off tonight for 11 combined goals. The game was tied 5-5 at the end of regulation, but midway through overtime, Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook slapped a wicked shot low past Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask for the winning goal.
The puck squirted to Seabrook on the right side of the ice after left wing Bryan Bickell had a long shot deflected. Seabrook controlled the puck with a touch and then shot the puck past two Bruins defenders just inside the far post.
The goal came after a wild third period. The Blackhawks were up 4-3 at the start, but Bruins center Patrick Bergeron scored 2:05 in to level the score. Patrick Sharp scored at 11:19 to give Chicago the 5-4 lead, but less than a minute later, Johnny Boychuk scored to tie the game again.
It was a crucial win for Chicago, who had six different goal scorers on the night. If the Bruins won, the series would've been 3-1 and likely over. Instead, it's 2-2 with Game 5 on Saturday in Chicago.
Seabrook's goal helped break a Bruins seven-game home winning streak. Rask, who's been playing out of his mind throughout the playoffs, finished with 41 saves.
