Michael Johnson Fell Off A Boat During An America's Cup Series Race
So we've written before about how the powers organizing the America's Cup have turned it into NASCAR at sea. (Our old pal Katie Baker wrote more about this on Friday.)
Anyway, one of the perks of gussying up the regattas is evidently that, during exhibition races like the ones in San Francisco this weekend, former Olympians will show up and crew your boat. Not Olympic sailors, but Olympic sprinters, like Michael Johnson. He didn't help Russell Coutts a whole lot, but Coutts didn't have to turn around and get Johnson, either—a race committee boat eventually picked him up.
