Novak Djokovic Gives Point To His Opponent Instead Of Replaying It
There was a rare moment of sportsmanship in today's match between Novak Djokovic and Radek Stepanek. Even in a tight fourth set, Djokovic was nice enough to concede a point to his opponent.
The line judge ruled that Stepanek's shot was out. Stepanek challenged, and the shot was very much in. After the reversal, the umpire attempted to replay the point, but Djokovic instead gave the point to Stepanek, surrendering his chance at the game point and returning the game to deuce. If you don't follow tennis, this does not happen often.
Djokovic still won the match in four sets, 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6.
