UConn's Starting Quarterback Retires Due To Concussions
Casey Cochran, the UConn quarterback who won the starting job—and our hearts—before the college football season, has stepped away from the game due to concussions.
UConn released a statement on Cochran's retirement today, saying that the redshirt sophomore would stop playing football and possibly pursue a mentoring or coaching role with the program.
Cochran missed last Saturday's game against Stony Brook with an "upper-body injury," according to head coach Bob Diaco. Cochran was injured in the Huskies' first game against BYU, but didn't tell the staff until four days later.
