Jordan Woodruff FaZe Vegas continued its impressive rebound from an opening-day loss, sweeping Cloud9 New York 3-0 on Saturday as Week 4 of Call of Duty League Stage 1 qualifying continued.
The win was FaZe's fourth straight to move them to 4-1, tied atop the standings with OpTic Texas. Saturday's other winners were the Miami Heretics, who beat the Boston Breach 3-1, and the Carolina Royal Ravens, who topped the Toronto KOI 3-1.
A group of 12 teams will play seven matches during qualifying, each win earning them 10 CDL points. While all 12 qualify for Major 1, Jan. 29-Feb. 1 in Dallas, the results will determine whether teams begin the major in the upper or lower bracket.
In the day's first match, Miami started with a 250-248 win on Scar Hardpoint, but Boston answered with a 6-4 win on Scar Search and Destroy. Miami took the lead again with a 3-1 win on Den Overload, but this time Boston could not answer as Miami won 250-176 on Blackheart Hardpoint to close out the match.
Next, Toronto beat Carolina 250-159 on Den Hardpoint, but the Royal Ravens took the next three maps, winning 6-5 on Den Search and Destroy, 3-1 on Scar Overload, and 250-152 on Blackheart Hardpoint.
In the finale, Vegas jumped all over New York, taking Exposure Hardpoint 250-128 to open the match. A 6-2 win on Colossus Search and Destroy followed, with an 8-1 win on Exposure Overload ending the match.
Wedk 4 concludes with three more matches on Sunday, before qualifying comes to an end next weekend.
