Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark will serve as the grand marshal for the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.

Clark will instruct drivers to report to their cars for the 110th running of the iconic race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Last year, former New York Yankees teammates Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez shared the role.

"I'm honored to represent Gainbridge as grand marshal of the Indy 500," said Clark, who has a marketing deal with Gainbridge, the presenting sponsor of the race.

"I'm looking forward to experiencing an iconic piece of what makes Indiana so special and being part of the time-honored tradition of ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.'"

Clark, 24, has averaged 24.3 points and 9.0 assists in four games this season with the Fever.

A third-year guard for the Fever, Clark rose to prominence during a prolific college career at Iowa, chasing down the all-time scoring record in Division I college basketball and leading the Hawkeyes to the Final Four twice. She was the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft in 2024.

"Since being drafted by the Fever, fans have been clamoring to share the epic celebration and thrilling excitement of Indy 500 Race Day with Caitlin," IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway president J. Douglas Boles said in a statement. "Through our incredible partnership with Gainbridge, everyone joining us for the world's largest single-day spectator sporting event will get to do just that. Caitlin will bring unique energy and presence to a quintessentially Hoosier experience and an absolutely bucket list global sporting spectacle."

Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti will drive the pace car at the event.

Cignetti guided the Hoosiers to a 16-0 record and a victory in the College Football Playoff title game in January.
