FlyQuest starts strong with win at LTA North 2025 Split 3
FlyQuest opened Week 1 of the LTA North Split 3 with a 2-0 sweep of Disguised on Saturday in Los Angeles.
The wins came in 28 minutes on blue and 31 minutes on red. Fahad "Massu" Abdulmalek, who is Canadian and Iraqi, had a kill-death-assist ratio of 7-2-6 in Game 1 and 9-0-6 in Game 2 for FlyQuest, which finished in first place in Split 2, while Disguised was eighth.
The other match later Saturday Cloud9, which finished second in Split 2, beat LYON 2-0. Lyon placed seventh in Split 2, which concluded in mid-June.
The LTA North 2025 Split 3 is the third Americas North League of Legens split under the LTA banner, with eight Americas North teams competing for the Americas title.
The first three weeks are single-match formats, with all matches best-of-three. The Week 1 matchups are based on the final standings from Split 2.
There are elimination matches in weeks 4-5, with the matches each best-of-five. Weeks 6-7 are a double-elimination format and also best-of-five. The top three teams qualify for the LTA Championship, and the winner qualifies for the 2025 World Championship.
Matches scheduled for Sunday are Shopify Rebellion against Dignitas, and Team Liquid against 100 Thieves.
The prize pool has not yet been determined.
