G2, Thieves, FaZe garner wins in Call of Duty Stage 4 qualifying

Call Of Duty Esports Tournament G2 Minnesota and the Los Angeles Thieves joined the ranks of 2-0 teams Friday at Call of Duty League Stage 4 Major qualifying, while OpTic Texas and Boston Breach took their first losses.
Minnesota knocked off Texas 3-2, Los Angeles outlasted Boston 3-2 and FaZe Vegas defeated the Paris Gentle Mates by the same score. Minnesota and Los Angeles will square off when qualifying continues Saturday.
The 12 Call of Duty League teams are playing five qualifying matches apiece to determine seeding for the fourth major of the season to be held June 25-28 at Nanterre, France. Each team receives 10 CDL points for each win. Qualifying resumed Friday after last week's Stage 4 Minor won by the Thieves.
On Friday, the Thieves picked up where they left off by scoring the first two points against the Breach, winning 250-200 on Den Hardpoint and 6-2 on Fringe Search and Destroy. Boston rallied to tie the match with a 5-3 result on Gridlock Overload and a 250-198 win on Gridlock Hardpoint. The final map was Raid Search and Destroy, with the Thieves earning a comfortable 6-2 victory.
Texas and Minnesota traded wins for the first four maps -- OpTic taking a 250-162 win on Den Hardpoint and a 3-2 score on Den Overload, and G2 countering with a 6-3 result on Gridlock Search and Destroy and a 250-171 triumph on Colossus Hardpoint. G2 wrangled a 6-4 victory over OpTic in the fifth and final round on Hacienda Search and Destroy.
Vegas and Paris also went back and forth. Vegas opened with the narrowest win possible, 250-249 on Colossus Hardpoint. The Gentle Mates proceeded to blank FaZe 6-0 on Hacienda Search and Destroy. FaZe won 3-2 on Scar Overload, but the Gentle Mates got some revenge with a 250-191 verdict on Scar Hardpoint. Vegas had the last say on Den Search and Destroy with yet another narrow win, 6-5.
