Jordan Woodruff Gen.G Esports recorded a 3-1 win over Hanwha Life Esports on Tuesday to punch their ticket to the Knockout Stage semifinals of the $5 million League of Legends 2025 World Championship in Beijing.
Gen.G bolted to a fast start with a 33-minute victory on blue and a 59-minute triumph on red. HLE countered with a 32-minute win on blue before Gen.G ended the match with a 32-minute victory on blue.
South Korean Ki-in "Kiin" Kim was named MVP of the match for Gen.G, who will await the winner of Wednesday's match pitting KT Rolster against CTBC Flying Oyster.
The Knockout Stage is a single-elimination bracket in which all matches are best-of-five. The champion of the Nov. 9 grand final will earn $1 million, with $800,000 going to the runner-up.
