Texas A&M (16-4, 6-1 SEC) won its third straight game on Saturday by whipping South Carolina 92-69 and did not have a midweek game. Georgia (16-5, 4-4) is coming off an 86-85 overtime home loss to Tennessee on Wednesday and has dropped back-to-back games.
"It's one game at a time, but it's about how we can play good and give ourselves the best chance to win," Texas A&M coach Bucky McMillan said. "I'm not even thinking about Georgia. I'm thinking about us more than anything and how can we play as well as we can play."
The teams are two of the best offensive squads in the country. Georgia ranks No. 1 in the SEC and second nationally with 93 points per game and Texas A&M is No. 3 in the conference and seventh nationally at 91.8 points.
"They play fast," McMillan said of Georgia. "To the naked eye, it's similar in ways, but there's also differences in the approach with certain things. But to the naked eye, it will look like a fun, up-tempo basketball game."
The Aggies made 17 3-pointers against South Carolina, the program's most in an SEC game and one short of the school record set earlier this season against Manhattan. Zach Clemence scored 21 points, making 7 of 8 3-point shots, which matched Lynn Suber (1989) and Antoine Wright (2005) for highest single-game 3-point percentage (87.5%) by an Aggie with six-plus attempts.
Texas A&M is led by Rashaun Agee, who averages 13.7 points and 8.7 rebounds, second-best in the SEC.
Georgia's Kanon Catchings is coming off a season-high 22 points in the loss to Tennessee; he averages 10.5 points and five rebounds. Jeremiah Wilkinson leads the Bulldogs with 17.1 points and Blue Cain averages 13.3.
"I'd say just play hard to figure out how we can win the next game," Catchings said. "It's a big game. Every game in the SEC is a big one."
Texas A&M leads the series 10-5 and has come out on top in the last six games, winning 69-53 in College Station in 2025. Georgia's last win came in 2020 in Athens.
