Courtney Rossel, Davis' ex-girlfriend, accused Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
She alleges that Davis attacked her on Oct. 27 in a strip club where she works as a cocktail server. Police in Miami Gardens, Fla., confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, and Roussel received a restraining order barring Davis from coming new her or her workplace, according to USA Today.
In response, Nakisa Bidarian, the CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, which was promoting the Paul-Davis bout, announced in a statement on Monday that the exhibition fight was scrapped.
"Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly," Bidarian said. "While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake's opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized."
Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) is the current World Boxing Association lightweight champion (135 pounds) and a former super featherweight and super lightweight champ.
Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) has fought at weights from 183 pounds to 227 pounds. His past two bouts were high-profile, unanimous-decision wins over Mike Tyson last November and over Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. in June.
