Giants add K Jude McAtamney, K Graham Gano placed on IR
New York Giants place kicker Jude McAtamney (99) kicks a field goal during warm ups prior to the start of the game between the New York Giants and the Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024. The New York Giants upgraded kicker Jude McAtamney from the practice squad Saturday while kicker Graham Gano was placed on injured reserve with a groin strain.
The Giants also upgraded linebacker Neville Hewitt from the practice squad.
McAtamney, 25, is a native of Northern Ireland who made one field goal for New York last season in Week 9 against the Washington Commanders.
Gano was injured while warming up for last Sunday's eventual 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He did make a 25-yard field goal in the game.
McAtamney earned the role for Sunday after he beat out Younghoe Koo this past week. Koo was added to the Giants' practice squad Tuesday.
Koo was released by the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 19, just short of two weeks after he missed a potential game-winning field goal in the closing seconds of Week 1. Koo is the Falcons' third all-time leading scorer with 700 points.
