Giants OT Evan Neal (ankle) activated off PUP list
New York Giants offensive tackle Evan Neal talks to reporters after the organized team activities (OTA's) at the Giants training center on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in East Rutherford. New York Giants offensive tackle Evan Neal passed his physical and was activated off the physically unable to perform list on Sunday.
Neal initially was placed on the PUP list on July 23 prior to the start of the team's training camp.
He aggravated an ankle injury on Nov. 5 in a game against the Las Vegas Raiders, which wound up being diagnosed as a small fracture. He underwent a procedure on the ankle Jan. 5 and took part in some offseason drills but missed Giants minicamp in June.
Neal, 23, has played in 20 games (all starts) in two seasons since New York selected him seventh overall in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama.
Also on Sunday, the Giants also signed linebacker K.J. Cloyd and waived defensive back Kaleb Hayes.
