Giants Suspend Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie Indefinitely After Disagreement With Ben McAdoo
Photo: Sean Gardner/ [object Object] Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie met with coach Ben McAdoo this morning in an attempt to smooth out has recently become a tempestuous relationship. Rodgers-Cromartie tossed his helmet after he was taken off the field during the team’s loss to the Chargers last weekend, and he later clarified that he was mad about having to sit. DRC was suspended yesterday after walking out of the team facility, but he returned today for the meeting with McAdoo. It doesn’t seem to have worked, as the Giants later announced that Rodgers-Cromartie has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
As Ian Rapoport notes, the most time he can miss from this suspension is four weeks.
The Giants have already lost their best player for the year, and it certainly seems as if McAdoo has now lost his locker room. Rodgers-Cromartie is a well-respected vet who has spent this year covering the slot (not his preferred position), and if he’s this frustrated then things may somehow be worse than they currently appear. Given that the Giants are both in low-key revolt and sitting at 0-5, McAdoo might be out on his ass soon. That could happen after this weekend, when the Giants have to travel to Denver to play a rested Broncos team on national TV.
