GM Gets Prostate Exam In Stadium, Sings "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"
Andy Milovich, general manager of the Texas Rangers' Single-A affiliate Myrtle Beach Pelicans, took minor league baseball stunts to a whole new level. He got a prostate exam in front of the whole stadium at tonight's game against the Frederick Keys and did so during the seventh-inning stretch while singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame."
Dr. Glenn Dangi performed the exam in the team's radio booth as cameras filmed Milovich from the neck up for a feed aired live on the scoreboard.
"It wasn't bad," said Milovich, 45, who never had had the procedure. "The doc was done maybe 15 seconds into the song. I think my next exam is going to be a significant letdown."
Dangi noted the experience was unique.
"I did exams in prisons for three years and New York City for 17 years, and this was a first," he said.
Milovich pledged to do so if a 10-year-old kid with brain cancer got 10,000 likes on his Facebook page. He apparently did, so in addition to handing out foam fingers to the first 1,000 men 18 or older, the team also showed everyone a big-screen prostate exam (and beat the Keys 5-4).
