Goalie Scores Own Goal With Huge Assist From Mother Nature
Most of the more common own goals you'll see are the result of miscommunication or some freak bounce that happens too quickly for the goalie to react. Not so in this recent match from Italy's Serie D.
The entire stadium saw this one coming a mile away as soon as the goalkeeper for Delta Porto Tolle booted the ball into the teeth of a driving wind in the first half of play against Ischia. The ball looped high in the air and was blown back toward the box, where it took an enormous bounce right over his outstretched arms and into the goal.
