Mandatory Credit: Brian Westerholt-Imagn Images Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has been ruled out for the remainder of the season because of an ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his left elbow.
Morant appeared in just 20 games this season for the Grizzlies, who made the announcement on Tuesday night. The two-time All-Star sustained the injury on Jan. 21 in just his second game back from a two-week absence due to calf soreness.
Per the Grizzlies, Morant will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection to optimize ligament healing. He is expected to be ready for the start of the 2026-27 season.
Morant, 26, averaged 19.5 points, 8.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds a game this season. He is playing on a five-year, $197.2 million contract that will expire after the 2027-28 season.
In 327 career games (325 starts), Morant has averages of 22.4 points, 7.4 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game since being selected with the second overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft out of Murray State.
