Lively tossed a few pitches while warming up for the fourth inning and felt discomfort in his right arm. After a mound visit by Guardians manager Stephen Vogt and the team trainer, Lively walked off the field and out of the game. He was replaced by Jakob Junis.
The Brewers managed no runs and just two hits and one walk while striking out once against Lively, who threw 45 pitches.
Junis wound up with the win after tossing one scoreless inning as the Guardians prevailed 5-0.
This season, Lively holds a 2-2 record with a 3.22 ERA across 10 starts.
