Here in America, you win a major sports championship, and you meet the president. Across the pond, when you stick your head through a horse collar and make a face better than anyone else, you meet the Queen. That line was actually in the original Magna Carta.

Tommy Mattinson is this year's world champion of gurning, the contest in which one tries to contort one's face to be as ugly as possible. Scores are ranked on a scale of 1 to Abe Vigoda. Mattinson, seen here with the Blue Steel look, was given the chance to showcase his talent to the Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to the English county of Cumbria.
